21 Day Fix Results: Anika Lost 8.7 Pounds in 21 Days!

Tell us about your life before you started the program. How did you feel about yourself and your body?
I have had a tough year with being let go from my job of six years and having to re-invent myself and find what I really wanted to do with my life. It was a constant struggle not to fall back into my old habits of emotional and stress eating. As a Coach, my motivation and accountability come from those I serve. But I was so dejected that I wasn’t even performing well in that area of my life. I decided to train for a figure competition in eight weeks, which didn’t help to balance out my body any more, and afterward, as most competitors do, I went on a ‘cheat meal’ binge. Next, I decided to challenge myself to ride my bike across South Korea. In doing so, I rode much too quickly and rested much too little that, by the end of my travels, my wrists and hands were like jelly and I was unable to use them for over a week. That made it easy to indulge in unhealthy fast food options. Once my hands had healed enough, I looked at myself in the mirror and didn’t like who I saw looking back.
What inspired you to change your life and begin your transformation journey?
Luckily, I am surrounded by positive, upbeat, motivated, and inspiring women on my Facebook page. Once I stopped making excuses and logged in to my page again, the pleasant but overwhelming barrage of uplifting and inspirational stories that flooded my newsfeed were enough to snap me back into reality. I stopped making excuses, apologized to my then five loyal challengers, and redoubled my efforts to make this summer the best for myself and for them. Once I could bear weight on my wrists with cushioning, I began the 21 Day Fix again and promised myself that I would complete the entire program at least twice, including following Autumn’s meal plan and the 3-Day Quick Fix option that I used to ignore. I wanted to stop wishing for it, and I started working for it with my loyal challengers in tow. Upon posting my results from round one, my fellow Coaches were astonished and vowed to start following the Fix correctly.
What in particular did you like about the program you chose?
Although I’ve done many other Beachbody workout programs, including Turbo Jam, INSANITY, PiYo, Hammer and Chisel, 22 Minute Hard Corps, Body Beast, and 21 Day Fix EXTREME, I knew that the 21 Day Fix program was just intense enough to push me past my limits and assist me in achieving my goals, but at a level of fitness that I wouldn’t be tempted to pause or turn off the workout without having completed it fully. I knew I had seen drastic results with 21 Day Fix when I first began as a Coach in September 2015, and I knew that it would be effective at helping me to reach my short-term, beachwear goals. I love that Autumn gets into my head and I begin to mirror what she is saying as it begins to internalize itself in my mind and I truly understand many of the tips she offers throughout the week. I love that I can listen to the workouts from my phone through Beachbody On Demand and not have to watch the video to know what actions are required.
Describe the results you achieved with your Beachbody program. Which achievements are you proud of?
After having rode my bicycle from the northwestern most point of South Korea to the southeastern most tip, and having encountered many steep hills and one very steep mountain along my travels, I knew my thighs had grown in size. While on the bike trip, the stronger my leg muscles were, the better off I was. But since it is my goal to slim down my leg muscles to reach my goals, the size, weight, and bulk of my quads were too much for me to bear. The 21 Day Fix is fantastic for providing a number of full-body exercises that target all of the muscle groups in our body. Because it is a ‘full-meal-deal’ of workouts, I knew that I would succeed in slimming down my legs (if only slightly so that they would stop rubbing together and wouldn’t stick to my shorts anymore), as well as my abdominals if I were diligent about doing the 10-minute abs routine a few times a week. When I’m on the beach, as I plan to be this coming week, I like to show off my abs, my best asset, so I am thankful to the 21 Day Fix.
How has your life changed since completing your Beachbody program?
After my first round of 21 Day Fix, which ended on July 10th, I felt lighter, my clothes fit more loosely, my friends and family noticed the changes in my face and body, and I just felt more confident overall. Additionally, after having posted my “before” and “after” photo collage on my Facebook profile, I was able to draw a number of challengers for my upcoming Challenge Group, which was a great surprise to me. Completing the program properly from start to finish really made a difference in my results and in the way people saw me as a Coach. Now I am about to post my newest June 20th to August 1st “before” and “after” results on my Facebook page, and I hope to receive the same volume, if not more, of interest in the healthy lifestyle transition groups that I am running. I have tons more energy too and have literally been singing from the rooftop of my apartment building because I am so happy with life now. I started Country Heat today, and I can’t wait to see my results on August 31st.
How did participating in a Challenge Group help you reach your goals? How did your group support you and keep you accountable?
I am my own CEO now as a full-time Beachbody Coach, so I run my own Challenge Groups. Being part of my ongoing Challenge Groups really helped me to stay strong and focused on my daily, weekly, and three-week goals. My challengers were very motivating and encouraging, especially when my inflammatory skin rash was still at its most irritating and I was still craving sweet, salty, and greasy foods. They really helped to get me through my first 10 days and they are still cheering me on after six weeks. Were I not responsible for guiding them on their journey and for setting a good example and being someone they can lean on, I am sure I would have been doing this alone. Which is why I am so touched that they found value in what I do for them on a daily basis, and over 60 percent of those Challengers have now, or will soon, join me as Coaches on my team. The validation that I am making a difference each day is enough for me to stay the course from now on.
How did your Team Beachbody Coach support you on your journey?
My upline Diamond Coach is my best friend and the reason why I joined as a Beachbody Coach in 2015. She is a great motivator and our weekly Zoom meetings are filled with positivity and enthusiasm. I enjoy her pep talks as well as her tough love every now and then when it is necessary. I know that I cannot get away with anything because she will call me out, and if I am doing really well, she will shout me out. Her daily support and mentorship is what I value most, and I am grateful to have her as my upline Diamond Coach, my mentor, and my friend.
How did a Beachbody supplement, nutritional product, or program (such as Shakeology or Beachbody Ultimate Reset) support your transformation? What are the greatest benefits you gained? Did you see benefits to your energy, sleep, mood/mental clarity, or digestion/regularity?
Once I stopped gorging on three fast food meals and two snacks, I began to notice my body’s reduction in cravings.2 Although I also have Performance Energize and Recover, as well as a 3-Day Refresh Kit, I wanted to do my 21-day challenge as it was recommended by Autumn and I decided to stick to it to see what might happen.
