Tell us about your life before you started the program. How did you feel about yourself and your body?
Before I started my 21 Day Fix journey, I was sluggish, constantly out of breath (smoker), and could not even cut my toenails without a pain in my stomach. My first daughter was a year and a half, and Daddo could only join in when she was sitting down to play. I was disgusted by my body and never took my shirt off. I was a chef, and constantly ate foods laced with butter and salt. My body was the proof!
What inspired you to change your life and begin your transformation journey?
After I saw a friend of mine at a party wearing a shirt that was too tight for him, I asked my wife if I was that big. She looked at me and said, “Yes, you’re exactly that size.” At that moment, I knew it was time for a change. For myself first and my family too.
What is the greatest challenge you faced before beginning the program? How did the program and Beachbody help you overcome that challenge?
The greatest challenge for me was making the time to work out, as I was always exhausted after a day’s work. Once I heard from my Coach that I could work out in 30 minutes and work out right, I knew I could not find any more excuses for not giving it a real go.
What in particular did you like about the program you chose?
I liked the fact that you work your way up at your own pace with modifiers until you are at the level to keep up at full swing. The modifier lets you feel like you can reach your full potential, and keeps you focused one day at a time. Most of all, I love the way Autumn mixes it up during the week to keep you and your muscles guessing.
Describe the results you achieved with your Beachbody program. Which achievements are you proud of?
With Beachbody, I am the healthiest and fittest I have ever been. At 37, I can keep up with my colleagues in basketball and soccer, and they are all in their 20s. My biggest achievement is my stomach. With Autumn’s 10-min ab fix workout, I now know that abs are not genetic. They are built with hard work!
How has your life changed since completing your Beachbody program?
My mom asked me in late February what I wanted for my birthday. I said the 21 Day Fix Challenge Pack, and she laughed! Another diet? I laughed too, but I told her I was serious and would give this program 100 percent for 21 days to see if it was the real deal. My life has done a complete 180. I’m playing sports again. I can play with both my daughters, no problem. Best of all, I have used my culinary knowledge to completely revamp my diet with clean, healthy eating, which tastes absolutely spectacular. This program has been a complete game-changer for me, and I look forward to completing different programs soon.
How did your Team Beachbody Coach support you on your journey?
I’ve known Christina and her husband since high school. I asked her questions daily to better understand the program. She has a wealth of knowledge about Beachbody products and programs. She kept me on track, even through a week of the flu. I owe my results to her and her husband, and I will always be here for them as they were for me.
How did a Beachbody supplement, nutritional product, or program (such as Shakeology or Beachbody Ultimate Reset) support your transformation? What are the greatest benefits you gained? Did you see benefits to your energy, sleep, mood/mental clarity, or digestion/regularity?
I have to say that Shakeology was my savior when the sweet tooth kicked in!2 I love this stuff and how good it tastes. I saw improvements to all of the above. But after so many years of slacking and a terrible diet, I think the program as a whole helped me.
