Tell us about your life before you started the program. How did you feel about yourself and your body?
I am a stay-at-home-mom with three little girls. I wanted so desperately to be the mom that could show her girls how to be confident by being confident herself. However, I was not that mom. I rarely wanted to get out and do some of our favorite things like hiking, swimming, and running because I was so self-conscious about my body and my abilities.
What inspired you to change your life and begin your transformation journey?
During Christmas 2015 I had a low moment where I didn’t have anything to wear that I felt confident in and I was dreading going to a Christmas party rather than being so excited to experience the Christmas magic with my family. I realized I wanted that to be the last time I let my negative self-talk ruin the most magical time of year for me. I was determined to finally lose my weight and find the self-confidence that I had always wanted.
What is the greatest challenge you faced before beginning the program? How did the program and Beachbody help you overcome that challenge?
My biggest challenge was finding the right workout for me. I would try some and not like them or it would be really hard to stick with it. I decided to try Beachbody On Demand so that I could try a few different programs, and that’s where I found PiYo. It has changed me! It was incredibly hard, but I was able to push myself. I loved the free trial of PiYo so much that I bought it. I have used it almost every day. My body is changing, I am getting stronger, and I love that I literally get excited to work out. PiYo has been a game-changer! Instead of being the self-conscious mom that I was just about seven months ago, I am now an active mom who loves running around with her kids. Just last week I did a perfect headstand on the paddle board, and I have no doubt that it was all because of PiYo! Thank you, Beachbody, for changing my life!
What in particular did you like about the program you chose?
I loved that there was not a lot of jumping. It was calm, yet exhausting. I loved that I could get up at 5 AM and be excited to stretch my body and clear my mind. Not to mention that it is probably the most challenging workout that I have loved in a long time.
Describe the results you achieved with your Beachbody program. Which achievements are you proud of?
I am most proud of the self-confidence I found within myself. I have found a love for my body that I have not had in a long time. After having three sweet babies, my body was just stretched out. My core is now tight, and I love to see the progress that I have made. The fact that I know I can get where I want to be makes me so excited. I now believe in myself and that is most important. That brings me happiness and hope for a bright future.
How has your life changed since completing your Beachbody program?
I am more active and now I rarely watch television. In addition to doing PiYo every day, I also do a lot of hiking, swimming, and running now. I feel like I get to see so much more of the world, because I am willing to get out, see it, and do things that I was too embarrassed to do before. I also feel so much happier. I know that I am doing what is best for myself and my family. I am being the best version of myself right now and that brings me pure joy.
How did your Team Beachbody Coach support you on your journey?
Kimi was always there to answer the questions that I had. Knowing that she was going through the same thing after having her little ones made it so much easier to reach out to her for help.
