Meet Sean M. He participated in The Beachbody Challenge and won the $500 Daily Prize for February 11th!
Tell us about your life before you started the program. How did you feel about yourself and your body?
Before I started Body Beast, I was doing a hybrid of INSANITY and P90X. I loved the muscle gains I had as well as my cardio endurance, but I was on the low end when it came to weight. I had lost 30 lbs with P90x and INSANITY and was down to 166 lbs. I wanted to gain more muscle and was excited about the idea of Body Beast, gaining 20 lbs of lean muscle.
What inspired you to change your life and begin your transformation journey?
I was serving as a Community Youth Development volunteer for the Peace Corps in Bulgaria. After my first six months in country and adapting to the culture by eating many meals and creating unhealthy habits, I felt horrible about my body, both internally and externally. My girlfriend had purchased P90X before coming to Bulgaria, and after hearing my constant negative talk about myself, she suggested we start together. We began as each other’s success partners, completing just about every workout together. After the first workout, Chest and Back, everything changed. My worldview, my habits, my mindset. I was energized and loved the way I felt. It was only the beginning. After that, it was INSANITY. Then a hybrid of the two. I’ll always be a Beachbody program user!
What is the greatest challenge you faced before beginning the program? How did the program and Beachbody® help you overcome that challenge?
The greatest challenge I faced before beginning Body Beast was falling into a routine. I would do P90x and would add a lot of weight into my backpack to do the push-ups and pull-ups. I needed a change in my lifting and Body Beast gave me the perfect routine! I’ve learned so much and love it.
What in particular did you like about the program you chose?
I love the pace and intensity of the workouts. In the gym, you see guys going at such a slow pace, checking their phones, talking with buddies. It’s disorganized. With this program, you’re moving quickly and really push your muscles to fatigue.
Describe the results you achieved with your Beachbody program. Which achievements are you proud of?
Great, fantastic results! It’s left me wanting more! My proudest achievement is mental. How I approach eating and snacking is completely focused on the macro-nutrient content of my food.
How has your life changed since completing your Beachbody program?
I haven’t completed it and I never will! It’s ongoing and I continue to add in new Beachbody programs to compliment the lifting from Body Beast. Right now, I do T25 cardio in the mornings and Body Beast Bulk in the evenings.
